Max Gane Architecture was commissioned to design a single storey extension to the rear of a detached family house in the Mendips. Full planning permission was granted in February 2019, and Building Regulations approval in August of the same year.

The extension houses a new garden room, an additional bedroom as well as increased storage space, and a new entrance lobby. The extension is timber clad with a standing seam zinc roof, and utilises sustainable woodfibre insulation. Full height bifold doors in each room open up onto the large rear garden. Construction started in spring and was completed by autumn 2020.
